Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Forest Park, Bailong Elevator, Yuanjiajie, Avatar Mountains, Yangjiajie, Tianzi Mountain

Congratulations on finding a truly all-inclusive tour with no surprise costs! In addition to all entry tickets, we cover every in-park elevator, cable car, escalator, and shuttle, making it effortless for travelers of all ages to conquer the iconic peaks and canyons.

1. Hotel Pick-up, Transfer to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Our group departs between 7:00 and 8:00 AM, while private tour guests enjoy a more relaxed pace with a flexible start time as late as 8:30 or 9:00 AM. Your guide and driver will greet you in your hotel lobby to kick off our journey to the Forest Park. We offer pick-up and drop-off services from hotels near the East Gate of the Park or in downtown Zhangjiajie. To maximize your time and stay ahead of the crowds, we suggest booking a hotel near the park’s East Gate.

2. Bailong Elevator
Upon entering the Forest Park, soar up the cliffside Bailong Elevator, the world’s tallest and fastest outdoor lift, to reach the summit in just 88 seconds, saving your energy for an unhurried, immersive hike. From its glass cabin, watch in awe as thousands of towering karst peaks rapidly drop beneath you.

3. Yuanjiajie Scenic Area & Avatar Mountains
Out of the elevator, your expert guide will lead you on a shortcut to the best vantage point overlooking countless quartz-sandstone pillars that have guarded Yuanjiajie for hundreds of millions of years. Let’s head straight to the main star: Hallelujah Mountains, which once inspired the floating peaks of the movie “Avatar”. High atop the stone pillars, eagles nest far beyond human reach and command sweeping views. Considered sacred messengers of the mountain gods, these majestic birds are often seen soaring above the valley. If time permits, navigate the cliffside trails of Yuanjiajie to admire nature’s finest masterpieces like the Back Garden, Enchanting Platform, and First Bridge Under Heaven.

► Meals are intentionally left flexible. We recommend having a hearty breakfast and packing some snacks. For lunch inside the scenic area, fast-food outlets are the most reliable: Dicos in Yuanjiajie, McDonald’s at Tianzi Mountain, and Burger King at Tianmen Mountain on Day 2. Local dishes are not recommended for being quite salty, spicy, and greasy; if you’d like to have a try, we suggest asking for smaller portions and milder flavors.

4. Yangjiajie Scenic Area
Board the park shuttle to less-crowded Yangjiajie to admire the spectacle of “Natural Great Wall”, formed by rows of pine-covered sandstone peaks dating back 380 million years to the Devonian Period. Unlike the softer strata of Yuanjiajie, which erodes into standalone pillars under the rain, the stones of Yangjiajie are more like books whose layers weather, peel away, and gradually reveal continuous rock walls.

5. Tianzi Mountain
Take another park shuttle to Tianzi Mountain, famed as ‘an enlarged bonsai, a miniaturized fairyland’. Marvel at the sea of clouds drifting around the Imperial Brush Peaks and Flower Fairy Peak. Along the boardwalks, you may meet locals in traditional dress singing folk songs. After farming was prohibited to establish the park, locals were employed as service staff. As global travelers arrive, tourism has transformed their livelihoods, allowing them to earn a better living while preserving their regional culture.

6. Hotel Drop-off
Finally, relax on a downhill cable car ride, taking in golden-hour views of the peak forest, before your guide and driver escort you back to your hotel.

Day 2: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon with Glass Bridge, Tianmen Mountain

1. Hotel Pick-up, Transfer to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon

2. Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge
Bypass the crowds with your insider guide and head straight to the world’s highest and longest Grand Canyon Glass Bridge. Bravely step onto the crystal-clear deck suspended 100 stories above the canyon floor – a heart-pounding, bottomless chasm right beneath your feet. Feel your legs tremble while marveling at this incredible engineering feat. If you’ve experienced the transparent Summit One Vanderbilt in New York, you can imagine the sensation of floating in mid-air.

If you are afraid of heights, you can follow the opaque sections on either side of the bridge.

3. Tianmen Mountain
Board the world’s longest mountain cableway for a 30-minute magic teleportation from downtown up to the clouds. Stand awestruck before Heaven’s Gate Cave, a massive natural arch halfway up the mountain. In ancient times, rumors of hidden treasure once lured many fortune seekers who attempted to descend the sheer cliffs on ropes, often with fatal results. Today, you can ride trans-mountain escalators to reach the mountaintop effortlessly, test your courage on the cliff-hanging Glass Skywalk, and look down on Heaven’s Gate from high above. Our curated route unlocks secret, local-only viewpoints, showing you not only the fairytale landscape, but also the daring spirit that makes Tianmen Mountain a world-class extreme sports mecca.
